Client Voice - case studies and client experiences of Stonham

Hi and a warm welcome to Stonham. Before I begin let me introduce myself, my name is KTP. When I came out of prison I was given a B & B in Yarmouth. Aria and I had been there far too long, so I needed my own home which I got, with help and support from MIND.

Then I heard of an organisation called Stonham so decided to give them a try. When I first saw Dylan and Selina my reaction was wow. I felt this because of my background history, being in prison I could get help with my life skills and getting me back on track. They got my independency back on track. I needed all the help that Selina gave. I found that Selina and Dylan were both very helpful, polite and had lots of time and energy for all the work they put in together with me. I can remember there was an incident that took place at the Job Centre, they were going to stop my money because someone made a mistake. I was angry with them and I told Selina how I felt. She said to me that if I didn’t stop getting angry she would have to go, or we could go and talk privately in another room in the Job Centre with the staff there to explain how I felt and how the procedure had got out of control. I was finding it very hard and being angry it took about 10-15 minutes for me to cool down. In the end Selina and I sorted out the problem. I didn’t think I would get anywhere with Stonham because of my offending background, but I did. If you want the help and support like I did, you have to put in 100%. It’s no use Stonham doing all the work, you have to work with the team.

I, Ana Reis wish to mention the help I received when I was having difficulties.

Somebody helped me and today my problems have been solved, owing to one or several English people who helped me with the problems of the schools with my children, transport, house debts, and support. They helped me a great deal.

I would like to thank Selina for her work.

She is a very kind, understanding and helpful person.

My children and I are very grateful to her for her work and we like her very much.
